Classes Offered

 

Biblical Studies

 

The Biblical Studies minor at Clarity International Christian University equips you for a lifetime of growth in Bible study by giving you the tools and knowledge needed to do accurate exposition of biblical texts. The Biblical Studies minor is also effective preparation for further study in graduate school or seminary and assists in developing essential skills for studying ancient and religious texts. 

 

Studying the Bible is relevant no matter what career you pursue. That's why all Clarity International Christian University students are required to build a biblical foundation by completing 12 credits of Bible and theology courses from the Biblical Studies program professors. Bible courses at CICU challenge you to go deeper – to keep asking tough questions until you discover the answers, to keep seeking until your faith becomes your own. 

 

Students may earn a minor in the field by completing the following 18 credit hours provided none of the courses is required in the student’s major:

BIB 230 - Interpreting the Bible

(3) This course provides an orientation to the Bible and the field of biblical studies; the formation, preservation, and translation of the Bible; hermeneutics and the principles and practices of exegesis.

 

Prerequisites: BIB 111

 

History and Literature of Ancient Israel

(3) An introduction to the theological, historical, and literary features of the Old Testament, tracing God’s covenant relationship with ancient Israel.

 

BIB 114 - Early Christian Literature

(3) Survey to acquaint the student with the content, background, message, and significance of the books of the New Testament.

 

ENG 104 - Research Writing

(3) Development of skills in research and writing of formal academic papers: critical thinking, argumentation, and documentation.

 

 

To accomplish its mission, the university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. At present, the following degree and diploma programs are available:

 

Associate of Arts

The two-year Associate of Arts degree focuses on the university’s General Education curriculum which includes Biblical Studies, Communication. It offers a solid foundation for many careers, Christian service, and informed living.

 

Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts degree offers specialization in a major field and biblical and theological studies.

 

Master of Arts in Counseling

The Master of Arts in Counseling program provides a strong clinical counseling background within a Christian framework that promotes study of the whole person, including the spiritual dimension. The curriculum offers an integrated approach to psychology, equipping students to be effective counselors in a variety of settings.

For those who are interested in completing a degree, or just want to continue their education by taking classes, CICU's  Graduate Studies offers a variety of flexible educational opportunities including bachelor's degree programs that open new doors for your career, associate degree programs to help you build a strong foundation, and certificate programs to give you that extra edge.

Admission Requirements

  • Complete the admission application online.

  • Provide your enrollment counselor with a copy of your state-issued driver’s license or a state-issued identification card. This ID must include your photo and be within the expiration date. If you are an international student, contact your enrollment counselor.

  • Submit proof of your high school graduation or completion. This must be your high school transcript with graduation date, a copy of your high school diploma, or a copy of your high school equivalent certificate (GED). You may use our Institutional Transcript Request Form(PDF) to request your official high school transcript.

  • If you are transferring credit from another college or university, provide official transcripts from each accredited institution attended. If you are currently enrolled, please request a final transcript be mailed upon graduation or completion of coursework.
